How do you meet with and communicate with clients?
I meet with clients both virtually and in-person. For virtual clients, we FaceTime, text, email, and snail mail for optimal productivity. For in-person clients, we do the same, as well as meet at a local library (good scribe tribe vibes). For both virtual and in-person experiences, my clients and I establish a routine and rhythm that aligns with the desired pace and productivity.
What makes your self-publishing offering unique?
Manifesting masterpieces is an intricate and intimate process. Developing both a personalized publication process and a personal relationship with my clients is at the heart of my offering. I listen closely to what my clients need, prefer, and desire for their experience, and inevitably there is storytelling, wonder-filled Q&As, laughter, tears, pauses, and propulsions throughout the journey. I believe self-publishing a book is diving into the depths of one’s soul in order for the stirring, mapping, and allowing of the most magical pieces to emerge. I love witnessing and supporting this awakening for my clients and their books.
How long does it take to self-publish a book?
This depends on the intricacies of the project. For example, a book with all text will likely take less time than a book that includes text as well as design components such as uploading and formatting images and illustrations. It also depends on the client’s desired pace. In my experience, it can take between 1-3 months.
If I self-publish a final draft of my book, but a year later, I want to edit it and republish it, can I do that?
Yes! Self-publishing allows you 100% access to the entire project and process 100% of the time.
What are the benefits of self-publishing versus finding an agent and publishing with a publishing house?
I recommend you independently research the benefits of both types of publishing. The publishing industry offers a colossal medley of options, and it’s important to determine which journey aligns with your goals and feels right for you. You could do both! Personally, I love self-publishing because I can navigate the whole journey, and for me, the whole journey is as rewarding and fun as holding my book in my hand upon receiving it in the mail!
